I've seen a request system called "Scan-on-Demand", although it's limited to books in the Boston Public Library and I've never tried it.

Probably the best way is to search for the books on Open Library, and if they are in the BPL they should have a "Scan this book" request button.

Update, I just took a look and don't see anything at the BLP for `mythology of all races` that is not already online.
