the turnpike. wanted to highlight a couple bills we were watching. ab819, which would require caltrans to establish procedures for non-standardized designs for bicycle projects. this was approved by the governor. another bill of interest would be ab1532, the speaker's bill, which would set procedures for use and distribution and cap and trade funds. i will go into this further. i think this would be of great interest to the board of supervisors with respect to the designation of the funds and the revenues that will be generated from the cap and trade program. next is ab2144, which is another bill sponsored by the speaker assembly member perez. this bill would expand the isd law and reduce the voter threshold for creation of an ifd and issuance of bonds for the ifd. unfortunately this was vetoed by the go for. there is discussion about it coming back next year. another bill of interest is sb214. this was vetoed by the governor and would have eliminated voter approval requirement for the city or county to creative ifd and expand projects. >> did the governor give reasoning why he showing

project. this project is in the environmental and caltrans current state. i say caltrans state department of transportation which retains design jurisdiction over 19th avenue which serves as state route 1. so, we have to get approval from caltrans to do any changes to 19th avenue. and this project is looking to implement pedestrian corner build outs as well as transit build out along intersections -- at intersections along 19th avenue. this project is being coordinated with sfmta transit effectiveness project. it is looking at ways to improve bus travel time and reliability performance on bus lines in san francisco including 19th avenue. that is looking at a number of options to improve bus services, including making changes to the bus stops. and, so, this effort is coordinating with tep's effort to change the bus stop along 19th avenue and our project, we're taking care of the caltrans clearance that's needed to make those changes. we believe that this phase will be concluded around december 2013. we understand that the current tep schedules summer fall 2013 to come to the end of their

-needed repairs. cbs 5 reporter don knapp is talking to caltrans to see how the work is progressing. don. >>> reporter: the work is on schedule but there are minor impacts on traffic. we came down 880 and it was backed up in several places. don't know if it's directly related to the bridge work or not but it was heavy. behind me you see work at the toll plaza. this seems to be routine now whenever they shut down the bridge, they go to work on all the projects around the bridge. now, out on the bridge, they have 30-foot sections to replace, 12 of them. so so far they have removed six of the old ones and installed three new ones and we're told right now at this moment, they are putting' fourth section into place. now, the work stems from a crack in a major support structure that was found on the bridge two years ago. and that was related to an earlier seismic retrofit in the '90s. caltrans created repairs, they said, held up well but the bridge was slated for a new seismic upgrade so they are doing all this work again now. the weekend closures, by the way, began kind of back in 2006- 2007
