When a decaying Russian satellite crashes on the island, the Professor uses a key component for a barometer. With that device, he learns that a massive wave is going to swamp the island. In desperation, the castaways lash their huts together into one structure in order to have any chance to ride the disaster out. The wave strikes the island and the hut is swept out to sea. Once there, Gilligan accidents starts a fire trying to cook a meal and nearly burns the floating hut down. Occupied with stopping the fire, the gang fails to notice that the smoke caught the attention of a naval helicopter who summoned a ship to rescue the castaways. In triumph, they return to Hawaii, only to learn that things have changed over the years and they will have trouble fitting in.

Didn't watch the whole thing, but it seems have immodesty, like a short short, and low blouse. Also one of the women kissed a guy, not sure if they were married.

To sully the memory, the timeless legacy, of one of history's greatest classics, perhaps rivaled only by Homer's Oddessey, Milton, Shakespeare, or perhaps Goethe's Faust, or the collected works of Maya Angelou, this takes the legendary hero's jouney, and turns it into a mere hero's expedition of common hope in which Sherwood Shwartz deviates bravely from the Neo-classical form, in a move only rivaled by George Lucas' adding digital creatures to Star Wars- BRAVO George, BRAVO!!) but sadly, (ergo) like the quest for the golden fleece, it was doomed to failure, if only because of the failing of man's inner nature, which inevitably leads him gayly down the path of enlightenment, to his own destruction, thereby rendering the the hopes and dreams of the entirety of humankind into a sort of prototype of the inner demon who's only motivation is to drain the very essence of life's vitality from the sacrificial wounds of hilarity.(?)Yup.
I suggest a better work, a high-calibre piece, known only as... Dusty's Trail (Here in the Archive).
But it was still pretty funny, I guess.
(Oh, and note that they DID have marijuana on the island, when they discuss using the ropes they made out of hemp. That could explain some things)

Subject: Mildly Amusing
To be fair the picture quality is lackluster, though that pretty much applies with 99% of prints circulating of this TV Movie.

It itself is a fairly enjoyable, silly but cute TV film that will probably be most enjoyed by fans of the series.

SPOILER:
There were two sequels in which the cast aways finally get off the island and the Harlem Globetrotters turn it into a fancy expensive hotel/resort. I am not making this up! I'm pretty sure the sequels are still copyrighted though and cannot be uploaded here.
END SPOILER

Overall, a generally decent late-70's TV movie, big Thank you to K-otic for uploading it.
