Demonstration in Kathmandu against Death Penalty
More than one thousand signatures collected
As a part of international solidarity campaign to abolish death penalty worldwide, Amnesty International Nepal organized a demonstration and signature collection program on 10 October, 2012 in Kathmandu expressing concern over the executions in Asia-Pacific region.
Nepal: Promotion of War Crimes Suspect Affront to Justice
The Nepali cabinet’s decision on October 4, 2012, to promote a colonel suspected of involvement in war crimes to the rank of brigadier general is a slap in the face for the victims of Nepal’s protracted civil war, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and the International Commission of Jurists said in a joint press release on 6 October, 2012.

Financial Reports Made Public
Amnesty International (AI) Nepal organized press conference on 1st October, 2012 in Narayangadh aiming to publicize its decision of the 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) and its financial detail including form where money came and where that was spent. On the occasion, AI International representative Clare Doube highlighted the overall human rights perspective of AI.
AI Nepal's 21st AGM Concluded
The 21st Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Amnesty International (AI) Nepal held on 29-30 September 2012 in Souraha, Chitwan. The AGM passed organization's activity and financial report unanimously. Altogether 135 delegates participated the AGM representing from 69 AI Nepal Local Groups.

वैदेशिक रोजगारीमा जाने नेपालीहरुको अधिकार सुरक्षित गरियोस् ।
गरिबी र वेरोजगारीबाट मुक्ति पाउन एवं आफू र आफ्नो परिवारको समुन्नत जीवन सुनिश्चित गर्ने आशाका साथ वैदेशिक रोजगारीमा जाने गर्दछन् । दस वर्ष अघि त्यसरी विदेसिनेको संख्या करिव ५५ हजार थियो । सरकारी रेकर्ड अनुसार गत वर्ष वैदेशिक रोजगारीमा जानेको संख्या ३ लाखको हाराहारी छ,, यद्यपि अनाधिकारिक बाटो प्रयोग गरेर जानेहरुको संख्या समेत जोड्दा वैदेशिक रोजगारीमा जानेहरुको संख्या प्रतिवर्ष करिव ६ लाख रहेको बताइन्छ । यसरी जानेहरुको प्रमुख गन्तव्य मुलुकहरू खाडी मुलुकहरू र मलेसिया हुन् जहाँ निर्माण, उत्पादन क्षेत्र र घरेलु काम जस्ता न्यून सीप भएका क्षेत्रका काममा जाने गरिन्छ ।
