Update from beta to beta 2
see changes below this is my first map with the source engine. These textures are horrible

1) Less blocky, have more round pillars and corners, etc. There are some nice tutorials on getting the round effect on fpsbanana.com.
2) The map seems very, very small, but with the screenshots you supplied, I can't tell. 3) Not as many concrete textures ;_;, get some other textures, and get a nice skybox (preferably 3d) 4) Seems like the blue ammo boxes are floating. |
i heard there will be a total different gameplay in 2.0 .. so close "offical map submissions"

Wow guys it's his first map give him a break haha.
-Map is way way to small it seems. -Textures are just bad, you'll get better at them over time tho. Using the clip tool to make one brush into many gives you th option to break up the textures a bit so they are not as repetitive. -Map is "fullbright" meaning there are no light sources, adding a light or a light environment would help the appearance tons. -MAJOR problem is the flag placement, I've done this before to without knowing it could happen. When ever you have a player spawn point and another player is above them during the time of spawn you will kill them as you spawn. You have this problem if any team is at the flag area and someone spawns below them... <333 |
FYI, we just recruited this guy onto the team.
He's our top level designer. His interesting use of lighting and achitecture is the basis for our new art style. |
Fuck yeah fullbright.
I actually wouldn't even mind fullbright because I hate dark maps so incredibly much. Even shadows annoy me. |
