Thanks to the generous help of Porc-Epic Home Hub Users can now play easily.

I'm not sure if that IP will work for everyone so use "run" and type in "CMD" and then "ok" then type in the cmd "ipconfig" your router IP should be the one that says "default gateway"

Then click on “advanced” on the side and click on “Continue to advanced” then log in then (default is admin and admin). Click on “devices” and click on your pc/laptop’s name and click on edit. Then find the “conection sharing” box at the bottom see if hl2 is in the drop down box and add it.

Alternatively they could replace their shitty router with a real one that wasn't constructed in an Indian sweat shop out of recycled plastic.

Or you know, could just use this method :). Seeming as they've just set up the router.

Yeah about what I said.

Promptly ignore that, followed by taking a sledgehammer to the thing, destroy the fuck out of it. Then actually buy a decent router capable of supporting a decent connection, without forcing you to retry and drop connections countless of times, and doesn't block off the telnet command.
