What the hell...

The mappers and HC are working on 1.9.4.
Slice is working on any new models needed for 2.0, which may not end up just being weapons, depending on how much new material is needed to fit the game type.
We know completely what we're doing with Haven gameplay, we just haven't discussed the specifics in detail yet. The actual game systems are fairly straight forward, there needs to be code for flags, code for capturing points, code for scoring, code for teams, code for blocks etc. This is all fairly generic; however there are features that need to be hammered out and tested a lot more. Classes are going to take a huge amount of time as we have to play many games with many different styles of classes. We need to try out different weapons, different statistics etc; until we find a well balanced set that are only what is necesary.

We've never said we're not testing heavily for 1.9.4? In fact that only thing we have said is that 1.9.4 is receiving extremely heavy testing, more so than probably any other version of SourceForts to ensure that it's as bug free as humanly possible.

We also have quite a lot down for 2.0, it's mostly just generic gameplay and rules, one of the most time consuming parts of the coding.

I thought Haven was supposed to be a different game made totally from scratch?

Besides, It was more or less the context in what he was saying, sounded like it was more generalised.

Tbh, you should just remove it and stick me in the design team.

Okay, I'm locking this post for now. There's no need for arguments about free speech or anything as I'm only locking it in lieu of a proper reply to it. We've got to a stage were people are just arguing in circles and nothing is being achieved. Standby for a few hours (that's not a promise, but it should be) and we'll have a new thread up with a full, proper and clear response from the entire development team.

If you really still want to, you can bitch and moan at that. Once you've read it.

I'm usually pretty good about not posting after a lock, but I'd really like this addressed by dev/design when the thread is opened back up or a new thread addresses this topic:
Why are we still months away from an alpha (my analysis of the comments made here) when we are almost eleven months out from the leak and over ten months out from the major exits from the old dev team? I'm a little hazy on the time line, but it seems to me (again from posts made here) that the separate Haven project was active at least by early April of last year, if not earlier. The dismissive and vague responses are hurting you more than any argument that I (or nip, or Bobert, or TommieV) could possibly advance. You really need to explain this, and that was the original point of the thread, as staff shortages and source code loss still don't seem to fully account for the shortfall at a conceptual level -- classes not even roughly determined, etc. The lack of confidence has nothing to do with aptitude or experience; I think our concern is with your collective ability to execute.

Again, i apologize for posting on top of a lock, but I want to make sure you get a chance to fully address this issue when you decide to lay out a formal update.

Edit2: Clarification: I was never a SourceForts Dev, though I was a beta tester from mid '06 to early '07.
