....'???????????: send me that playtest download link? Acer....'???????????: hey, how good are you with uv mapping? Slappywag: i'm ok at it, it's just rly annoying thing to do Acer....'???????????: glad we're on the same page :/ Acer....'???????????: is that new city map yours? it's nice Slappywag: yeah it is Slappywag: thnx Acer....'???????????: jw, how many maps are that far ahead that you've made? I'm only at 2 :/ Slappywag: only a few of mine Acer....'???????????: ever release any maps for sf on source? Slappywag: i made quite a few back in the day, released a few of them but never put them on forums and stuff much Acer....'???????????: anyone of them up for a remake on sf2? that 2nd map of mine that i'm working on was that sf_sand map of mine on the island Acer....'???????????: also, you doing your own texturing? Slappywag: yeah i do my own texturing Slappywag: a few of them might be used as concepts for remakes or something in the future Acer....'???????????: i can't rmb, what modeler are you using? Slappywag: i use 3dsmax Acer....'???????????: my niggga Acer....'???????????: i'll hyu later probably about 3dsmax. also, are you texturing in 3dsmax or in the UE? Slappywag: i do the high poly model in 3dsmax, and use that and the low poly to export to substance painter, where i bake all the normals and stuff and paint it, then export those textures out and make a material with them in UE Acer....'???????????: that's the type of info i've been looking for. thanks Slappywag: np Acer....'???????????: fo uoi Acer....'???????????: do you have any tutorials about that process? Slappywag: there should be some in UE4 documentation or somewhere Slappywag: look up substance painter tutorials Acer....'???????????: jw, how hard is the process of converting high poly models to low poly models? is there any issues involved when you do it? Slappywag: personally i make the low poly first then copy it and start adding all the details i want for the high poly Slappywag: but i know of other modelers who make the high poly first then take away detail for the low poly insteead, it's kind of whatever u are more comfortable doing Slappywag: if u do the high poly first ur mostly gonna be going through the model and removing unnecessary edge loops/vertexes and all that till u ahve a really optimized model Acer....'???????????: you busy? want to check out a portion of a model and tell me if i'm doing anything that I shouldn't be doing.. Slappywag: i cant atm i am a bit busy Acer....'???????????: it's good, also. do you model glass on the model or as a seperate entity? Slappywag: anything you want to be glass u make a model for and apply a glass material to it in UE4 Slappywag: it can either be a exported as a seperate model or just be set to use a seperate material, either way Slappywag is now
