Luminous Forts Design Documentation Nothing is final. Keep it short and simple (no stupid long design docs). Though technical docs can be a good idea if we have time to write them. Hekar Khani Introduction Luminous Forts wishes to hold true to the original philosophy of Sourceforts in keeping the game simple, but retaining great depth and longevity. In light of this LF will not follow the same path as mods such as Project Haven and Construct. Luminous Forts is scheduled to be released as what would be Sourceforts 1.9.5. Target Markets Being a mod based on the very concepts of the near dead Sourceforts, Luminous Forts is targeting the niche audience of hardcore SF players. The Sourceforts community is divided into a few segments, but the target audience is the rare group of skilled players that regularly play on public servers without competive intention. Of course a player must play a multiplayer game with competition in mind, but when the focus is centered on competition rather than fun, the gameplay suffers. Scrims and Pugs should be ignored in the gameplay design of Luminous Forts. Game Modes Though LF is geared towards a fulfilling a specific niche audience, I still wish to explore and modify the game more beyond what it already is. To do this the gamerule classes were split and a wrapper was added to allow mappers to select which gamerule they want their map to use. Each gamerule can have its own set of player classes. Player Classes Each gamemode may have a different set of player classes.
